[句型 2] 沒有疑問字的「間接問句」

助動詞 + S +…？ (直接問句)
S + V + Whether 或 if + S + (助動詞) + V … (間接問句)

範例：

1. 你能不能來呢？
   Can you come or not?
   
   
2. 你能來與不能來又有什麼關係？
   What difference does it make whether you can come or not?
   

說明：

1. 英文的問句分為兩種，一種是疑問字開頭的句型 (如句型 1)，另一種是沒有疑問字，
   而是以助動詞開頭的問句 (如本句型)。
   
   
2. 當「問句」作為整個句子的主詞或受詞時，有疑問字開頭的間接問句，
   是以「疑問字」作為子句的連接詞，沒有疑問字開頭的間接問句，則應加連接詞 whether 或 if。
   但句尾配合 or not 時，則只能用 whether。
   

題型：

1. I wonder ____ he is at home or not.
   (A) that (B) if (C) whether (D) why
   答案：(C)
   分析：原題是說：「我不知道他是否在家。」
   
   
2. I said to Mary, “Do you like my new tie?”
   = I ____ Mary ____ ____ ____ my new tie.
   答案：asked, whether 或 if, she, liked
   分析：原題是說：「我對瑪莉說：妳喜歡我的新領帶嗎？」
