描述一連串項目

當我們使用一個連接詞 (and 或 or) 來描述一連串項目時，
除了最後一項之外，其他每一項的後面都必須用逗點隔開。

因此，我們會寫成

• red, white, and blue
• gold, silver, or copper
• He opened the letter, read it, and made a note of its contents.
  

我們把這種逗點稱為「序列」逗點。

但是在描述公司行號時，最後一個逗點常常省略：

• Brown, Shipley and Co.
• Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated
